Wednesday, August 28, 2024:

2:00 PM – 6PM: Welcome Back to Lead East! Spend the afternoon getting settled and take advantage of early registration on both car spaces and hotel rooms for next year’s show in the Hilton lobby

7:30 PM: Lil Jimmy’s stack of Record Kick Off Party, will be in the Elements Ball Room. With special guest DJs! Reunite with your lead east family and dance the night away to the sounds of early rock and roll.

7:30 PM: Colorado Café Reunion: Join us for a one time only, line dance extravaganza! 

Free dance lessons with DJ Scott Tracy and Wild Bill.  Doors open 6-pm, with a whole lot of line dancing to follow. Hotel rooms are available for purchase.  People with advanced sales tickets, will be admitted 5:30 (30minutes earlier to get the best seats), anyone with a Lead East weekend wristband will be admitted at no charge.  Buy your tickets at the ballroom door $20.

Thursday, August 29, 2024:

9:00 AM:  Visit memory lane and see movie and specialty cars. Appearing The General Lee, The Police Car from Dukes of Hazard, The Bat Mobile, Scooby Doo Mobile, &   many more.

9:00 AM: Collectibles show and other vendors will be open in the hallway area by the ballroom. Check out the old and new venders this year!

9:00 AM: Meadowlands Street Rods, does auto repairs at their booth. The repairs are available to anyone needing service.

9:00 AM: until late in the night: Welcome back Brandon McCoy of Gooch Freehand Pin striping in front of hotel in vendor area.  He’ll be joining us again all the way from Oklahoma!! 

Noon – 6:00 PM:  If you haven’t pre-registered your car space or hotel room, now is the time to do it in the Hilton Lobby for the 2025 show.  All rooms non-renewed will be released for sale on Friday. 

Noon – 9:00PM: DJ Jerry “The Wolfman” Burst will be playing Oldies music outside on the PA system. Stroll around the parking lot and listen to the sweet sounds of the oldies! He’ll be taking requests, dedications, and making announcements! Tune to 88.1FM to hear the music on your radio.

7:30PM: The “ACE” Drive-In opens. 7:30 – 8:00 Cartoons for the kids. Double Feature movies begin at 8 PM; Movie titles and times are listed on the Marquee in the handbook. Bring a lawn chair or something to sit on… there’s plenty of space! The “ACE” Drive-In is located behind the hotel in the parking lot. Popcorn and 3D glasses will be provided, See you there!

7:30 PM -10:30PM: Party with the Golden Gup:  In the ballroom, come dance with the Gup as he spins the most danceable music of the 1950’s.  A Lead East tradition, bring your dancing shoes.

Friday, August 30, 2024:

9:00 AM – 12:00 midnight: LEAD EAST is open to the public! DJ Jerry “Wolfman” Burst plays your favorite Oldies music outside on the PA system. He’ll be taking requests, dedications, and making announcements! Tune to 88.1FM to hear the music on your radio.

9:00 AM:  Model Railroad Display by the Hi Railers located in rear of the main ballroom.

9:00 AM:  Visit memory lane and see movie and specialty cars, Appearing The General Lee, Police Car from Dukes of Hazard, Bat Mobile, Scooby Doo Mobile, & many more.

3:00PM – 5:00 PM: Oldies Karaoke and open MIC performances at LEAD EAST presented by DJ Pat and Heather Ferrante in the HOTEL LOBBY… your chance to be a singing star! This is open to the public.  Sign up for Lead East Has Talent.  Winner to open sat & sun concert.

3:00 pm-5:PM: Pictures with Craigles and Lashes and the clown car on the grass to the left of the front of the Hilton Hotel

2:00 PM – 6:00 PM:  Registration for Lead East 2025 in the Hilton Lobby.  The balance of all available rooms will be on sale on a first come-first served basis.  After you book your room, reserve your Plan A or B and your wristbands.

4:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Coolest Cruiser Contest!!! Please assemble by the outdoor stage. DJ Jerry “Wolfman” Burst will MC this People’s Choice. The car or truck with the most cheers, clapping, noise wins!!

5:00 PM-7:00 PM Blue Hawaii Happy Hour.  $2 beer drafts sold by Hilton & Free Finger Food, take a break have a snack and a beer. Bitter Sweet Dueo, The “C-Notes”, A Singing Duo from NYC will be playing live and taking requests! Also Torre Staude on steel drums.   Free Hawaiian  lea to the first 100 people.

5:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Jr Sock Hop Craigles will join Tiffany at the outdoor stage.

Learn the hand jive, do the twist, hula-hoop contest and more. Fun for the whole family.

6:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Oldies Karaoke and open MIC performances at LEAD EAST presented by DJ Pat and Heather Ferrante in the HOTEL LOBBY… your chance to be a singing star! 

Sign up for the Lead East Has Talent contest with DJ Pat at the Karaoke booth.  Only the first 10 performers to sign up will be selected. Winner to be opening act for the Saturday and Sunday night show.

7:30 PM – MIDNIGHT: The “ACE” Drive-In opens. 7:30 – 8:00 Cartoons for the kids! Double feature movies begin at 8:00 PM.  Movie Titles are listed on the movie marquee in this handbook. Bring a lawn chair or something to sit on. The “ACE” Drive-In is located behind the hotel in the parking lot.

8:00 PM – 11:00 PM: Friday night dance party (Lead East Band Stand) NY style stage show in the ballroom, featuring Michael D’Amore and Michael Zandman for a dancing good time. Geri Petito from Hamilton Radio will be the MC, Tickets for sale in the Hilton lobby!.Tables will be assigned this year. Credit cards accepted. 

9:30PM- 10 PM: Neon Extravaganza !! Bring your cars, bring your lights, bring your neon or string lights… and let’s bring the fun! Line up by Wolfman.

 

Saturday, August 31, 2024:

7:30AM -11AM: Join us for cars and coffee, in campus 9 parking lot. Make new friends. All year cars are is welcome

9:00 AM:  Model Railroad Display by the Hi Railers located in the back of the Main Ballroom

9:00 AM:  Toys for Tots Bring an unwrapped toy to the MTA tent.  The MTA will deliver all the toys to the Marines 

9:00 AM:  Visit memory lane and see movie and specialty cars, Appearing The General Lee, Police Car from Dukes of Hazard, Bat Mobile, Scooby Doo Mobile, & many more.

9:00 AM – Midnight: Lead East is open to the public! DJ Jerry “Wolfman” Burst plays your favorite Oldies music outside on the PA system. He’ll be taking requests, dedications, and making announcements! Tune to 88.1FM to hear the music on your radio.

9:00 AM – 9:00 PM: Be watching for the Craigles the clown and her funny bones.  You never know when she and the troop will pop up.

9:00 AM: Meadowlands Street Rods, does auto repairs at their booth.  This is available to anyone needing service.

10:00 AM – 12:30PM: The Ultra Kings/Razorbacks Join Rich the former base player of the Razorbacks, with his band the Ultra Kings, step in to perform, to cover for Kenny D who has had hand surgery.

11:00 AM: Story time, face painting and photos with Craigles the Clown in Clown Hall. (Silver room.)  Kids must be accompanied by an adult. Absolutely no drop-offs.

11:00 AM – Noon: Basic dance lessons in Elements Ball Room,  hosted by Lou Vinci. Bring a partner and let’s dance!

Noon – 2:00 PM: Model Car Customizing Contest for children under 17 (under 12 must be accompanied by an adult). There will be several categories and all model kits and supplies will be provided. Those who wish to bring their own model kits and adults over 17 are welcome! The contest will be held by the Hotel outdoor pool courtyard. This event is free but limited.

1:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Acapella Street Corner Showcase in the ballroom. With MC Tony O from WVKR radio Doo Wop Café. Featuring “Cherished Memories’, Dino Geangelo & the metro hearts, UGHA All Stars, Grand Central Echoes,  free in the ballroom!

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Madison dance lessons with Lou Vinci in the elements ballroom

2:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Lead East Has Talent Contest (Winner to open the Saturday and Sunday night shows) at Karaoke stage in Hilton Lobby

2:00 PM – 6:00 PM :  The Atomic Mosquitos & The Time surfers, Ventrons,& Hal Keschner’s Combo with Cristal Spivey Hosted by Paula Grace from wvkr fm At the outdoor stage by the back revolving door

4:30 PM – 5:30PM: Ron Farber in the Elements Ball room.  Take a trip in the history of rock and roll.

5:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Oldies Karaoke and open mic performances at LEAD EAST presented by DJ Pat and Heather Ferrante in the HOTEL LOBBY… your chance to be a singing star! 

7:00 PM: Concert in the Ballroom The show kicks off with John Monforto, Memories Music, Vito Picone & the Elegants Jay Siegel and the Tokens.  Tables assigned this year! Tickets available in the Hilton lobby Credit Cards accepted.

7:30 PM: The “ACE” Drive-In opens. 7:30 – 8:00 Cartoons for the kids! Double feature movies begin at 8. Titles are listed on the marquee in this handbook. Bring a lawn chair or something to sit on. The “ACE” Drive-In is located behind the hotel in the parking lot. Popcorn and 3-D glasses provided.

8:30 PM: The Golden Gup and the Rhythmhancers will perform on the outdoor stage located by the back door of the Hotel. This is surely a LEAD EAST tradition! This is the biggest dance event of the show.  Gup spins 50’s recordings you know and love while the Rhythmhancers play in sync to the recordings. 

9:30PM- 10 PM: Neon Extravaganza !! Bring your cars, bring your lights, bring your neon or string lights… and let’s bring the fun! Line up by Wolfman.

After Gup ends,  Little Jimmys parking lot party:  New location & DJ this year!  Little Jimmy will take over for Gup , across from Wolfman .

10:00 am – 2:00 PM Dwight Doc Gooden: Meet baseball personality “New York Mets and Yankees” star pitcher Dwight “Doc” Gooden at the Eileen fund table in the Hilton. The Eileen fund will be selling 50 /50 tickets.  Purchase a book of 10 tickets from the Eileen fund and receive a signed photo of “Doc” Gooden.  All proceeds go directly to Eileen fund. 

11:00AM:  First Responders March All First responders in uniform are welcome. The Emerald Society bag pipers will lead the March, a chance for all of us to thank them. Assemble on Hilton court by the pink ticket booth.

11:00 AM – NOON: Dance lessons of all levels hosted by Lou Vinci in elements room!! Bring a partner along and let’s dance!

11:00 AM – 9:00 PM: Craigles the Clown is on the move. Watch for Craigles and her clowny companions as they party their way around the parking in her clown cart and inside the hotel. Stop and take a photo.

11:00 AM: Story time, face painting and photos with Craigles the Clown in Clown Hall (Silver room.) Kids must be accompanied by an adult. Absolutely no drop-offs.

1:00 PM – Good vibrations surfin soiree.  The Jagalloons , the Sciflies, Northern Tides, and Jersey Sound hosted Paula Grace from wvkr fm

4:00 PM: Jr Greeser & Jr Poodle Skirt Contest, hosted by MC Tony Dean of Doo Wop Radio. This is the time to dress up the young, at the Karaoke stage inside the Hilton lobby.

5:00PM: Top Ten Car Awards by the back door stage.  Back this year, due to poplar demand,

Trophies given to top ten customs. Also specialty awards to be announced. 

5:00PM -6:00 PM: Prom Queens’s promenade!! Convertibles line up by the front door of the Hampton hotel by “The Wolfman” and pomade a few laps around the parking lot. All past Prom Queens are welcome! All Queens and their escorts must be seated inside the car as they promenade the parking lot. This is a Lead East Tradition!!! Bring your camera!

6:00 PM: Motown and Doo Wop Extravaganza: Sensational Soul Cruisers, Michael DAmore, & Who’s Johnny. Tickets for sale in the Hilton lobby. credit cards accepted. Tables assigned this year. 

6:00 PM: The 38th Annual Senior High School Prom & last dance of the 2024 show. It will be held in the Elements room. All are invited with appropriate formal wear, please. (Vintage clothes appreciated) free this year! 

7:30 PM – MIDNIGHT: The “ACE” Drive-In opens. 7:30 – 8:00 Cartoons for the kids! Double feature movies begin at 8. See the marquee in this handbook. Bring a lawn chair or something to sit on…. There’s plenty of space to social distance. The “ACE” Drive-In is located behind the hotel in the parking lot. Pop corn and 3-d glasses will be provided.

8:00 PM: Join us for “The Wolfman’s Stroll Party” with DJ Jerry “Wolfman” Burst!!! We do the Stroll together every year at Lead East…. it’s tradition! Get in on the action this year and let’s stroll.

8:00 PM – Tuesday At Eight,at the back stage Dance the night away!
